Larry's County Production Figures

Larry provided the following commentary and production chart:

While there is a lot of media attention being given to the Bakken Formation in North Dakota, Mountrail County is the true center of activity. Here is a county by county list of oil production in North Dakota for December 2007 and March 2008.

Mountrail County is now the second largest producing county in the state. If all goes well, Mountrial County should become the largest producing county in North Dakota by December 2008.

My read of your data is that Bowman & McKenzie are both ahead of Mountrail.
Am I reading this wrong or are your Bowman Data wrong? I see Mountrail getting ahead of McKenzie but not Bowman.

Sorry, I was reading your columns backward. Mountrail is ahead of McKenzie, but I still dont see them catching Bowman any time soon as they would have to more than double output over March in just nine months.

My calculator of future production in Mountrail County indicates December 2008 production will be 1,458,000 barrels.

Bowman County production topped out 2 to 3 years ago and may be in a decline.

One caveat that may prevent Mountrail County production from reaching this level in December 2008 is the lack of capacity in the Enbridge Pipeline to move the oil and wells may be prorated.

I'm concerned that serveral wells in the Parshall field last year I'm seeing should now be in production but for unknown reasons are not. I have yet to get a fix on what is going on for sure, starting with both sections 15 and 16 152 90. Also, why was there such a long delay in drilling 8 and 17 which were permitted last year? If anyone knows the scoop on these I would appreciate hearing.

larry,

probably not a bad waeg. how bout 1,250,000 bbls? curious though, how many wells do you estimate in parshall in 12'08 ?

The only well that seems long overdue to be on production is WAYZETTA 100-26 that was spudded 10/24/2007

anon--
I estimate EOG will have 84 wells on production in December 2008 in the Parshall area that would include Austin, Oakland, Wayzetta, Shell, Van Hook, Parshall, Model, and Fertile Townships. The other drillers may have 15 or so wells in the above townships on production in Dec 2008.

Wayzetta 100 26 is a test well of some sort, listed as type "ST" not "OG". I think that's a designation used for a study or research well of some sort that may never be intended as an active producer.
It is on the same section as "Herbert", a producing well, but Herbert is in the SW SE of 26 whereas Wayzetta 100 is in the NE SW of 26.
The Well search indicates that Wayzetta 100 is drilling right now.

Thanks David,
The permit for Wayzetta 100-26 indicates it was to be drilled to 9560 feet and thus appears to be a vertical test of the formations underneath the Bakken that is at 9100 feet.

I'm curious about Whiting Oil's success. In particular, I am looking at well number 16463 in the NW1/4 of 153-92-25.

This well amazes me at the lengths of it's three horizontal legs shown in the NDIC's GIS website.

Anyway, anyone have any production history on this well? Or know the link to a site that shows production history?

Thanks,

Allen

Is there just no data for Hettinger County, I would be interested to know if there is any production going on.
Thanks!
